  • Sex therapy is a type of talk therapy that is designed to help individuals and couples assess medical, psychological, personal, or interpersonal factors that may be impacting sexual satisfaction. People of all ages, faiths, health status, ethnic backgrounds, whether partnered or single, may benefit from working with a psychotherapist who specializes in this area. You can see a sex therapist by yourself, but if your problem affects your partner as well, it may be better for you both to attend. I also highly recommend that all parties in the partnership to attend individual therapy during couple’s work.

  • Each therapy session is confidential and runs up to 50 minutes. Homework exercises will be given on an individual basis or to be completed as a couple. The exercises may be as general as communication exercises or as specific as sensual touch exercises. I tend to utilize what is called “Sensate Focus” exercises. This a type of sex therapy technique coined by Master’s and Johnson, who pioneered research into sexual responses. This type of approach allows partners to let go of their expectations and judgements of mutual touching, and instead focus solely on the sensory aspects of touch.

In no instances and under no circumstances will a Certified Sex Therapist observe a client having sex nor engage in any kind of sexual activity with a client

  • I am part of the LGBTQIA+ community. I have experience in working with gay/queer, lesbian, bisexual, non-binary, asexual and trans clients. Issues that I address are the process of coming out, navigating sexual identity, navigating gender identity, living one’s authentic self, social stigma, prejudice, gender dysphoria, mental health issues and discrimination.
